On March 24, 2016, NEJM published in “Images in clinical medicine” a work sent by Gabriele Casso, MD, deputy chief of cardiocentro Ticino Anaesthesia and Intensive Care service.
The study is about a case of tracheobronchomegaly observed on a 84-years-old patient. Tracheobronchomegaly is a rare congenital condition characterized by marked dilatation of the trachea and the main bronchi and is associated with recurrent infection of the lower respiratory tract.
