The Daily News of the European Association of Cardiac and Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) is published during the Association’s annual meeting, it deepens its themes and conference sessions and represents thus an authoritative and prestigious international showcase.
The 2016 EACTS meeting was held in Barcelona from 1st till 5th October. The Sunday Daily News edition on October 2nd gave ample space to a research conducted by Dr. Enrico Ferrari, senior cardiac surgeon at Cardiocentro Ticino and member of the Cardiovascular Research Unit at the Lausanne University Hospital.
The research, conducted on an animal model, highlights the safety and efficacy of a new device for closing transapical access in percutaneous valve procedures (TAVR and TMVR).
