ESC Andreas Grüntzig Lecture

Professor Valgimigli has received a prestigious honor commemorating Andreas Grüntzig.
Valgimigli was awarded the renowned ESC Andreas Grüntzig Lecture, one of the highest honors bestowed by the European Society of Cardiology (ESC). During his keynote lecture, he outlined the evolution and future of the interventional cardiologist.
The award is named after Andreas Grüntzig (1939–1985), a pioneering physician in interventional cardiology and the inventor of balloon-catheter coronary angioplasty, a procedure first performed in 1977.
