We are proud to report that PD Dr. Marco Bergonti Cardiologist of the Electrophysiology and Electrostimulation service led by Prof. Dr. med. Giulio Conte received the prestigious SGK 2026 award for Research. The award was presented during the Swiss Cardiology Congress held on 11 and 12 June 2026.

The study presented highlights how a continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring system can precisely characterize the symptoms and rhythm disorders in patients with hereditary arrhythmic diseases, such as Brugada syndrome. The results obtained could help improve the management of such patients and help doctors decide when implanting a defibrillator is really necessary to prevent sudden cardiac death.
