A PhD Position in Clinical and Translational Research in Interventional Cardiology is available at the Interventional Cardiology Unit of Cardiocentro Ticino Institute, Ente Ospedaliero Cantonale, and Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI), Lugano, Switzerland. We are looking for a motivated PhD student who will join an interdisciplinary team committed to advancing innovation and evidencebased practice in cardiovascular medicine.

Duration: minimum 3 years

Position: The selected candidate will be enrolled in the PhD program in Biomedical Sciences at
Università della Svizzera Italiana (USI), Lugano, Switzerland. The PhD position is fully funded for
three years.

Position description: The PhD project will focus on design, planning, and execution of clinical and
translational research in Interventional Cardiology. The PhD student will be involved in protocol
development, patient recruitment, data collection, analysis, and study dissemination. The PhD student
will be also involved in the planning, coordination and implementation of phase, 2, 3 and phase IV
national and international clinical trials.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Medicine (MD or equivalent). Specialization in Cardiology is a preferential
  criterion.
• English at a proficiency level (C1 level).
• Prior experience in planning, executing, analysis and dissemination of clinical and
  translational research in Cardiology.
