Along with the development of the three fundamental specialisations in Cardiology, Cardiac Surgery and Cardiac Anaesthesia, Cardiocentro is committed to the implementation and enhancing of a series of synergies and services considered strategic, to ensure that the structure keeps pace with the new frontiers of research and, first and foremost, provides patients with the best possible treatment opportunities and maximum safety.
In this connection, the structure hosts the Swiss Stem Cell Bank (SSCB) and the Molecular Diagnostics Laboratory (LDM - Laboratorio di Diagnostica Molecolare), two structures independent from Cardiocentro but which brought about a fundamental synergy thanks to which the Cell Therapy Unit (UTC - Unità di Terapia Cellulare) was initiated. Aiming at the development of cell therapy products, the UTC operates in compliance with the Good Manufacture Practice (GMP) guidelines. |
